II Forum of «Light Industry of Fergana Valley» has kicked off

Today, 24 October, the II Forum of " Light Industry of Fergana Valley" with participation of importers from Russia, Belarus, Italy, Poland, Austria, Turkey and other countries was inaugurated in Fergana.
At the opening ceremony, top officials of the regional division of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade noted the importance of the Forum for mutual exchange of experience and trade agreements between local and foreign entrepreneurs. Presentation on export potential of textile industry of Fergana region was made.
In particular it was emphasized the growth of textile enterprises with foreign capital participation from 56 in 2019 to 83 in 2022. In 2021 textile products of Fergana region were exported to 49 countries, and in 2022 already to 57 countries of the world. The number of exporters has increased from 174 in 2021 to 201 in 2022.
Attention of participants was paid to opportunities opened in connection with obtaining by Uzbekistan of EU GSP+ status and UK GSP, boycott cancellation for cotton-textile production, as well as to conditions for investors, tax and customs privileges and preferences created in free economic and small industrial zones.
P.S. During the Forum, there was an exhibition of products from more than 60 local light industry producers, B2B talks and visits to major production sites in the region.
