In Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Jizzakh, drinking water supply is less than 60 percent

"Over the past five years, we have allocated 10 trillion soums to improve the water supply of the population, or 5 times more than in previous years. For the first time in this period, 6.5 million people were provided with clean drinking water," the head of our state said at the beginning of the meeting .

It was noted that in 2021, about 6,300 kilometers of drinking and waste water networks were laid, 474 water intakes were built, water supply was improved for 2.5 million residents in 592 mahallas.

"Most importantly, due to these works, 1.5 million people are provided with drinking water for the first time. At the same time, there are still many problems that are still waiting to be resolved," the head of our state said.

For example, in 4 thousand mahallas, drinking water is supplied 4-6 hours a day. Centralized water supply is not established in more than 1.5 thousand mahallas.

In addition, about 2,000 kindergartens, schools and medical institutions are forced to pass water due to the lack of connection to the central network.

In Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions, the supply of drinking water is less than 60 percent.
