In Uzbekistan, the purchase of "foreign cars" has tripled

Experts attribute the sharp increase in car registration to the abolition of car purchase fees.

The number of contracts for the sale of foreign cars in Uzbekistan has increased by 2,400. According to the Center for Economic Research and Reform, growth was 26 percent compared to January 2022 (up 2.7 times from February 2021).

In February this year, the number of cars purchased in the primary market amounted to 28.8 thousand. Car sales rose 3.2 percent from January. In the secondary market, the figure was 99.6 thousand (an increase of 16.8%).

Also, the number of new car registrations compared to the previous month in Tashkent (63.2%), Kashkadarya (38.1%) regions and Karakalpakstan (15.9%), Syrdarya (-27.8%), Increased in the Fergana region (-22.3 percent). , Namangan (-16.9%), Bukhara (-6.2%), Surkhandarya (-6.1%), Samarkand (-4.8%), Jizzakh (-1.9%) and Tashkent (- 6.6%) decrease.

The regions with the highest number of cars purchased in the secondary market are registered: Samarkand - 12.5 thousand (in January - 9.7 thousand), Fergana - 11.8 thousand (9 thousand), Andijan - 10.2 thousand (7.2 thousand), Namanganda - 9.4 thousand. (8.1 thousand), Kashkadarya - 8.3 thousand (6.4 thousand) regions and the city of Tashkent - 11.7 thousand (13.6 thousand).
