International tender for modern electric trains announced

"O'zbekiston temir yo'llar" JSC announced an international tender for the purchase of 34 modern electric trains. This tender provides for the supply of equipment necessary for the technical maintenance of electric trains, as well as the training of staff.

Currently "O'zbekiston temir yo'llari" JSC is negotiating with leading global companies, such as Stadler, Skoda, Talgo, Hyundai, CAF, Siemens, Alstom, Hitachi, Pesa and CRRC-Dalian, to upgrade the rolling stock and purchase modern electric trains.

Also as a result of purchase of 34 modern electric trains it is planned to organize railway communication on 8 new directions. As a result of the introduction of railway service on the new routes, 5,925,500 passengers will be served annually.

Also, on 10 existing routes, such as Tashkent - Khodjikent - Tashkent, Tashkent - Angren - Tashkent, Namangan - Andijan - Namangan, Kokand - Andijan - Kokand, Tashkent - Gulistan - Tashkent, Tashkent - Bekabad - Tashkent, Termez - Sariasiyo - Termez, Karshi - Bukhara - Karshi, Bukhara - Khiva - Bukhara, Samarkand - Bukhara - Samarkand additional trains will be launched.

By establishing train service on the new routes and organising additional trains on existing routes, a total of 22,473,500 passengers per annum will be served.
