It was on August 22 that the Kazakh language was declared the state language in Kazakhstan

On August 22, 1989, the Kazakh language was declared the state language of the former union republic, and two years later, the country gained independence.

The Law "On Languages in the Kazakh SSR" was adopted only on September 22, 1989. When the Kazakh language was given the status of the state language, the Russian language was given the status of de jure, i.e. the "language of international communication".

Later, in the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it was stated that "the Russian language is officially used along with the state language."

In addition, it is noted that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2004, fully transferred the documents to the state language.
