Jalaliddin Manguberdi is a great representative of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives on the path of national independence

On August 29, a solemn opening ceremony of the Jaloliddin Manguberdi memorial complex took place in Urganch. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the ceremony and opened the statue together with public representatives.
In his speech, the head of our country recognized the personality of the general and his place in history.
"Jalaliddin Manguberdi is a great representative of our ancestors who fought for the independence of the country and sacrificed their lives in this way. In terms of love and loyalty to the motherland, honor and glory, there are rare people in the world equal to Jalaliddin Manguberdi”, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The location, appearance and content of the statue were discussed in depth with the participation of historians, art critics and builders. The head of our state visited it several times during construction. In this way, a 25-meter tall majestic statue was erected. It depicts Jalaliddin Manguberdi holding the reins of a vulture and riding to the defense of the country. The patriotism and indomitable will of our people, who are striving for the future with great confidence, are expressed in the resolute and proud figure of the Sultan.
A copy of Jalaluddin Manguberdi's epitaph was installed in front of the statue. Found on the territory of Iran, this stone weighs 32 kilograms and is 30 centimeters high. The verses of the Holy Qur'an, the family history of Jalaluddin Manguberdi, and the history of the creation of the monument are written on it.Its original is now kept in the famous British Museum in London. This also indicates the incomparable fame of our great ancestor in world history.
On the 8-hectare area where the complex is located, huge construction works were carried out on Al-Khorazmi and Islam Karimov streets. A car tunnel was built under this square.
