Leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia canvassed topical issues of bilateral cooperation

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, had a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on May 24.

The sides canvassed issues of further development of Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and allied relations, expansion of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached at the summit in Moscow in November last year.

Pace of active dialogue and mutual visits has boosted since the beginning of this year. Bilateral events were successfully held in late March as part of the first Tashkent International Investment Forum and the Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition in Tashkent in April in a new regional format.

Priority projects for industrial cooperation are underway. Since the beginning of 2022, trade turnover has proliferated by 40%.

Important programs are being implemented in the fields of humanitarian cooperation, including education, health, culture, tourism and sports.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia stressed the magnitude of deepening cooperation between the business community and the effective use of the great potential of interregional ties.

They also exchanged views on the regional agenda and international politics.
