Meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries

Today, on July 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov took part in the meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries in Cholponota (Kyrgyz Republic).

The participants of the event discussed the organizational and substantive aspects of preparation for the upcoming Consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries.

In particular, the agenda and program of the Summit, drafts of the final documents submitted for review by the heads of state were reviewed and approved.

Opinions were exchanged on the current state and prospects of interstate cooperation in Central Asia in the fields of politics, trade, investment, industry, transport, ecology, energy, ensuring regional security, joint fight against modern dangers and threats.

In his speech, V.Norov noted that today in Central Asia, thanks to the political will of the state leaders, a fundamentally new atmosphere of friendship, cooperation and mutual trust has been formed. The countries of the region have a common position on many international issues and find mutually acceptable solutions to even the most complex issues.

At the same time, taking into account modern realities, it was noted the need to take decisive steps to strengthen cooperation in Central Asia, to respond to emerging threats in a timely manner, and to develop appropriate initiatives and new approaches to mitigate their consequences.
