Meeting of the International Mission of the Turkic Council for Election Observation was held in Bishkek

On April 9, the observation mission of the Turkic Council, headed by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Omer Kodzhaman, met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission and Referendums (CECR) of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurzhan Shaidalbekova.
The Chairperson expressed her gratitude to the Turkic Council for kindly accepting the invitation to observe the upcoming political event and informed about the preparations for the elections, as well as the proposed amendments to the Constitution.

The Deputy Secretary General shared the views of the observation mission of the Turkic Council during the observation of the previous elections in the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed confidence that the important reforms and administrative preparations made by the government of Kyrgyzstan will contribute to ensuring the transparency of elections based on internationally recognized standards and national legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The delegation of the Turkic Council also met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Azizbek Madmarov.

The Deputy Minister informed that, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 48 polling stations were opened in 28 diplomatic missions in foreign countries to ensure the participation of Kyrgyz citizens living abroad in the voting process.
