Meeting with the Ambassador of Brazil

On June 20, 2012, Vladimir Norov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Uzbekistan (with residence in Moscow) Rodrigo De Lima Baen Soares.

Accepting the credentials of the Ambassador, V. Norov congratulated him on his appointment to a high and responsible position and wished him success in his work.

In turn, Rodrigo De Lima Baen Soares praised the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan. Brazilian government considers Uzbekistan as an important state in the region and is ready to develop relations with the republic in all respects.

Parties stressed the importance of accelerating political dialogue, including inter-ministerial consultations, expanding ties between the parliaments of the two countries, strengthening coordination within the UN, the Organization of American States and the BRICS + format, expanding the legal framework of cooperation.

In order to intensify economic diplomacy, the parties agreed to consider the establishment of an intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and scientific-technical cooperation, the opening of mutual trade houses, the organization of a visit of Brazilian business circles to Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to the supply of goods from Uzbekistan to the Brazilian market, including chemical fertilizers, textiles, agriculture and other products.
