Meeting with the Chairman of the Northern Economic Cooperation Committee under the President of the Republic of Korea

On March 1, 2022, Abdulaziz Kamilov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Pak Chon Su, Chairman of the Northern Economic Cooperation Committee under the President of the Republic of Korea.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-South Korean cooperation in political, diplomatic, commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The New North Policy Program of the Republic of Korea is aimed at intensifying economic and political ties with Eurasian countries, which is in line with the regional strategy pursued by Uzbekistan.

The meeting canvassed issues of expanding the strategic partnership, including the acceleration of negotiations on a free trade agreement.
