The 26th meeting of the Council of foreign ministers of the ECO was launched

At the same time, the 26th meeting of the Council of foreign ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was launched in Tashkent.

The meeting is attended by foreign ministers of the ECO member states: Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov presides over the meeting.

The ECO is a regional multilateral structure established in 1985 in order to promote the development of trade and economic relations between the countries of the region.

Uzbekistan became a member of the organization in 1992, and in 2022, for the first time, Uzbekistan's presidency of the ECO began.
