New approaches to food production

Many countries on our continent are major importers of consumer goods and are very much affected by food insecurity.

The World Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that more than half of the world's hungry people live on the Asian continent.

The paradox is that at the same time it is our countries that are the world's leading food-producing countries," said the President, adding that new approaches in this regard:

The formation of sustainable food production systems and an optimal food supply chain;

Harmonization of technical regulations for the growth of intra-regional trade.

The President proposed the creation of a holistic system of food security monitoring in Asia.

It was proposed to discuss all these issues at an international conference under the auspices of the FAO, which will be held next year in Uzbekistan.

The head of state also proposed to combine efforts to address environmental and climate change issues, as well as to establish permanent expert consultations within the framework of the conceptual program "Green Asia" on the accelerated planting of our countries and support ecosystem dependence.
