New order: from now on, civil servants must openly accept gifts at international events

The regulation on the value of gifts that can be received by civil servants in Uzbekistan in connection with business trips, international and other official events, as well as on the procedure for their disposal, is registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This is reported by the channel "Legal Information".
According to the Regulation, a civil servant may receive gifts during business trips, at international and other official events outside of Uzbekistan, as well as at international and other official events held in Uzbekistan.
It is forbidden to receive gifts during other business trips in Uzbekistan.
A gift received by a government civil servant must meet the following requirements:
- the presence of items not prohibited by national legislation;
- the gift was made voluntarily at an international or other official event;
- open and transparent acceptance of the gift;
- not damage the reputation of the state body;
- not create a conflict of interest or corruption factor.
A public civil servant transfers a gift to the economic department within three working days after the event, about which an act is drawn up.
If the value of the gift is not clear, it is evaluated by the economic department, and if its value does not exceed 4 times the BRF (1.2 million soums), the gift is awarded to a civil servant.
If the value of the gift exceeds the BRF by 4 times, it is included in the balance sheet of the state body by the financial and economic department and used for the needs of the state body.
It is noted that perishable gifts (flowers, sweets), as well as stationery sets (calendar, booklet, plastic pen, diary and notebook) are not issued as gifts and are left with a civil servant.
The requirements of this Regulation are mandatory for all public civil servants.
