One of the important tasks in the utilities sector is to provide homes with heat

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the report on the work being carried out to improve public utilities and provide population with drinking water.
One of the important tasks in this area is to provide homes with heat. In this regard, targeted projects are being implemented in the regions. More than half of apartment buildings have centralized and individual heating system. The rest are heated with stoves, electric heaters or other equipment.
The Ministry of Housing and Communal Services manages 495 boiler houses. In 2018-2021, 47 boiler plants and 78 kilometers of heating networks were reconstructed. This year, another 24 boilers and 182 kilometers of networks in cities such as Bukhara, Samarkand, Karshi, Djizak, Namangan, and Asaka were renewed. As a result, 70 thousand households and 113 social facilities were provided with heat energy.
As a result of these projects, the level of heat supply to multi-storey houses has generally increased. The annual saving of energy resources will amount to 130 million cubic meters of natural gas and 1.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. As a consecutive continuation of this work in the framework of the investment program for 2023 it is planned to build 3 boilers, repair 10 boilers and lay new heating networks.
Extensive work on centralized drinking water supply to the population is carried out. This year it was built 527 objects and almost 7 thousand kilometers of water pipelines. At the beginning of the year the level of supply of drinking water to the population amounted to 70 percent, and by the end of the year it is planned to increase this figure to 74 percent.
In 9,309 localities, 3,800 of the mahallas are fully and nearly 4,000 are partially covered by the centralized drinking water supply. Measures are being taken to bring water to remote villages and to build networks. In particular, in 2023, it is planned to put into operation 62 facilities in the framework of the investment program and 373 facilities in the framework of "Obod Qishloq" and "Obod mahalla" programs.
As a result, drinking water supply to more than 3 million people in 403 mahallas will be improved, 181 mahallas will be connected to the network for the first time. Also, through the social order of the state projects for providing mahallas located far from the district center with drinking water are implemented. Next year it is planned to lay 251 kilometers of pipelines to 17 such villages.
