Our goal is not to punish someone - the chairman of the Senate T.Narbaeva

At the twenty-ninth plenary session of the Senate, within the framework of the consideration of the law “On amendments to Article 206/1 of the Code of administrative offenses of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the chairman of the Senate, Tanzila Narbaeva, spoke separately about the protection warrant.
Speaking about the protection order, it has been a novelty for Uzbekistan since 2019. It means to warn a violent person by our state. Warning: do not approach a woman or any other citizen within a period of time.
If we increase the amount of the fine offered by the law for non-fulfillment of the protective order, there will be a burden on the victim himself. Because in our society, in many cases, women are considered dependent on their spouse. Anyway, the spouse provides the main supply. If we increase the amount of the fine, it will pay the fine, but the possibility of reprimanding his wife, child will be limited. And I am paying a fine because of you, which means that there may be a reason for the birth of the idea that we cannot bring the necessary funds to our family.
In general, the imposition of a fine on a man can also be considered a punishment for a woman who has suffered, therefore, if you open the convention “On the elimination of all forms of women's discrimination”, which was added to Uzbekistan in 1995, there were also recommendations on the need to impose a severe, oppressive punishment that would
Therefore, we need to take an integrated approach to this issue from the point of view of numbers, and not from the point of view of quantity. Our goal is not to punish someone, our goal is to prevent such situations. Therefore, we fully support the opinions on the rejection of this law. In the decision, these aspects are also written. I think that all senators will also support this," said Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
