Our judokas won four medals at Grand Slam tournament

A major international Grand Slam judo tournament has come to an end in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, where Uzbekistan's athletes won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

In the men's 100kg judo competition, Alisher Yusupov won a silver medal, losing to eventual world ranking leader Temur Rakhimov of Tajikistan.

Another Uzbekistan's Shakhrukh Bakhtiyarov, competing in the same weight class, defeated Finn Martti Pumalainen in the bronze medal bout.

Diyora Keldiyorova, competing under 52kg, defeated Sosorbaram Lhagvasuren of Mongolia in a decisive bout to win the gold medal. That success will earn the Samarkand-based judoka 500 ranking points towards the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Uzbekistan's Sita Kadambayeva (-52kg) defeated Poland's Aleksandra Kaleta in the bronze medal bout.
