Pakistan wants to introduce 6-month special visa to Uzbek drivers

Pakistan and Afghanistan are introducing special visas for mutual truck drivers. Uzbekistan can also join this program.

New visas will allow the carriers of the two countries to cross the border unhindered. Pakistan's Trade Minister Navid Qamar said it would increase turnover.

"The visa is valid for 6 months. In the future, they are also planned to be given to Uzbek drivers. For this, a visa agreement is concluded between the three countries," the minister said.

The official stated the breadth of opportunities for exporters in Central Asia, noting that through it their dependence on the markets of the Middle East, the European Union and the United States will decrease. Pakistan's government also says it intends to turn the country into a regional trade and transportation hub.
