Plans to create 100,000 jobs in Sirdarya region

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "Politex Sirdaryo" cotton-textile cluster in Saykhunabad District.

Previously, there was no industry at all in Saykhunabad district, with only cotton being grown. As a result of agrarian reforms and introduction of cluster system, industry came here. Now, yarn, textiles, ready-made garments, vegetable oil, soap, food and other products are being produced here. And that is only from cottonseed.

In particular, the textile cluster enterprise "Politex Sirdaryo" has started yarn production. It has adopted German technology and created 700 new jobs. The annual capacity of the enterprise is 7 thousand tons of yarn, and the production has been exported to China, Turkey and Bangladesh for 2.5 million USD in the past period.

A company producing 30 thousand tons of oil annually is also operating within the cluster. It provides employment for 100 people. The Head of State observed the technological process of the yarn production at "Politex Sirdaryo" and talked to the workers.

The President also spoke with the representatives of mass media.

''Our main objective of today's visit to Sirdaryo is to identify factors for transforming the region into a region with a fully employed population. The first factor, in the Sirdarya context, is land. The mindset of the cluster owners is changing; they are striving for quality, and their income is growing. Now they have to serve the interests of the people. This consists first of all in creating jobs. For example, there are plans to create 100 thousand new jobs by giving land to the population for farming. Secondly, these lands will be free to grow whatever is profitable. Whoever understands the market and works harder will have an income. Another important aspect is that if we can eliminate unemployment in Sirdarya region, it will be an example for other regions", Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
