President got acquainted with new projects at the Metallurgical Combine of Uzbekistan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Bekabad on August 12 in order to get acquainted with the life and industrial projects of the population.

The role of the metallurgical combinat of Uzbekistan in the economic and social development of this place is great. Therefore, special attention is paid to the expansion of its activities. In recent years, a number of investment projects have been implemented, new workshops have been launched, and the existing ones have been modernized.

One of them is the varietal rolling complex. In exchange for a project worth almost $ 5 million, a thermo-reinforcement line was brought here from abroad and launched in February this year. Through it, a production capacity of 500 thousand tons of A 500-A800 branded fittings was created per year.

During his visit to the combine, the head of our state entered this complex and was interested in the economic efficiency of the project. First of all, the cost of fittings was reduced due to the fact that chemicals were saved during the thermo-strengthening process. It was calculated to replace imports of $ 300 million a year. Another important aspect is that these fittings have obtained the certificate of the international DIN standard. Now it is planned to export this product to Europe.

The president was at the construction site of another important project in the combine - the well rolled complex. As a result of this project worth 672 million euros, the production of 1 million tons of steel lists per year will be established. When this project is launched, the capacity of the combine will increase by 2 times.

Today, the construction of the railway and highway for the complex is being completed and reinforced concrete structures are being installed. The necessary equipment is being brought by the Italian company Danieli. It is planned to launch it in 2024.
