President inspects progress of agricultural works in Jizzakh

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Jizzakh region on February 10 to review the socio-economic development of the region. The first item on the agenda was the farm "Pakhtakor Elite Urukchiligi" in Pakhtakor district.
The farm covers 100 hectares, of which 80 hectares are planted with cotton and grain, while the rest is planted with soybeans, garlic and alfalfa. During a visit to the Syrdarya province last October, the head of state gave instructions for the efficient use of land along the perimeter of the fields and the construction of field huts for the convenience of farmers and workers. The results of this work can be seen on this farm. Mulberry, grapes, melons and beans have been planted on the edges of the field. A light structure field house has been built and solar panels have been installed on its roof.
The President visited the house and spoke with the farmer's family. In a conversation with those in charge of the agriculture sector and leaders of the cotton and textile clusters, instructions were given to increase yields and provide employment to the people.
"Why have we given our wealth - land - to the clusters? So that it can be used for the benefit of the people. From now on, clusters must conform to reforms and implement government policies to reduce unemployment in their regions by industrialising agriculture, opening businesses and supporting home-based work," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Instructions were given to ensure the interest of farmers and to implement mahalla points of growth.
