President of the Republic of Uzbekistan extended sincere congratulations to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on his birthday anniversary

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on October 5.

The head of our state extended cordial congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the leader of Tajikistan, and sincerely wished health, wellbeing, great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the fraternal people of Tajikistan.

President Emomali Rahmon's role in building a modern Tajikistan and enhancing the international prestige of the country, in achieving the current highest level of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship and good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance has been especially praised.

Discussions during the conversation have covered practical implementation of previously reached agreements and those reached during the talks. The sides noted with satisfaction the start of activity of the Joint Investment Fund designed to promote priority cooperation projects in manufacturing, agriculture, energy, transport and other sectors.

The sides stressed the importance of further expansion of active interregional contacts and holding of joint business and cultural events in the two countries.

Views were exchanged on topical issues of the regional agenda and the schedule of forthcoming multilateral meetings was discussed.
