President of Uzbekistan to pay official visit to Turkmenistan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan on October 20-21 at the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The programme of the visit includes talks at the highest level to discuss topical issues of bilateral and regional agenda.

The focus will be on deepening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of strategic partnership at the new stage, increase of mutual trade turnover, expansion of cooperation in industry, energy and chemical industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, maintenance of active cultural and humanitarian exchange.

A robust package of bilateral agreements on priority areas of interaction is to be inked following the summit.

During the visit, the opening of the Tashkent Park in Ashgabat and the joint launch of a project on the construction of a border trade centre are also planned.
