President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays tribute to Hungarian heroes

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid wreath to the memorial column on Heroes' Square in Budapest during his official visit to Hungary.
The head of our state honored the memory of outstanding personalities who had contributed to the establishment of Hungarian statehood. The ceremony took place with the guard of honour company, accompanied by the military orchestra.
Heroes' Square is one of the main squares in Budapest and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In its centre stands the Millennium Monument with seven Magyar chiefs on a pedestal. It commemorates the discovery of the modern homeland by Hungarians and the founding of the Hungarian Kingdom.
The memorial also includes two colonnades with sculptures of outstanding personalities of the Hungarian nation. In front of the memorial there is a memorial plaque in honour of the heroes of Hungary.
