President stresses need to develop education and upbringing, drawing on scientific heritage of ancestors

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Bukhara region and visited the mausoleum of Bahouddin Naqshband.

Surahs from the Koran were recited and a prayer was offered to the Almighty for the repose of the souls of the deceased and the granting of peace and prosperity to our country.

"We travel to all the regions, give impetus to the development of spheres, try to solve problems and make the people happy," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. - Today, we have come to Bukhara to set new goals and improve people's welfare. May God Almighty help us in all our endeavours.
The need to develop religious education and fight ignorance through education was emphasised in talks with religious figures.

"In recent years, an atmosphere of openness and freedom has been established in the religious sphere, as in all spheres, and we have set up several research centres. But what good is it for our people? For there to be benefit to our people, it is necessary that society should be aware of this potential. Ignorance should be fought with education, drawing on the heritage of our forefathers like Bukhari, Moturidi, Marginoni. For this, it is necessary to link religious education with practice and turn our academic centres into world leaders," the head of state said.
