President watched judo debate

On October 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Sports Palace “Humo Arena” and watched the Judo World Championship competitions.

As you know, this is an important competition in terms of prestige, which is next to the Olympic Games. 571 judokas from 82 countries participate in this championship, which is held for the first time in our country. 18 young men and girls compete in the national team of Uzbekistan.

The head of state observed the final competition among men in the weight category up to 90 kilograms. In the match, which took place under intense and equal fights, our countryman State Babonov won the gold medal, overcoming the Italian rival Christian Parlat. This was another great success in the history of our country's judo.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded medals to the victorious State Babonov (gold) and winners Christian Parlati (silver), Georgian Lasha Bekauri and Luka Maysuradze (bronze).

In the following days of the competition, four more athletes will appear on the carpet. The World Cup will end on October 13.
