Problems and solutions of urban areas

The world community is taking serious measures in order to overcome the negative consequences on the environment due to urbanization. In the struggle for a clean environment, Uzbekistan is no exception.
To regulate relations in the field of waste management and conduct an environmental policy in relation to waste, there is a 2002 Waste Law. In recent years, large-scale measures have been taken to improve the system of operation of large enterprises and transfer them to more environmentally friendly activities.
In September 2020, the President adopted a resolution "On measures to further improve the system for handling household and construction waste." As part of its implementation, the first stage of the competition for one public-private partnership project in Andijan and Samarkand regions started this year. Effective work is being carried out in the Tashkent region in this direction. In other regions of the country, an effective policy is also being pursued to prevent harmful emissions into the environment.

It is planned to start processing household waste using foreign experience. This, in turn, will also resolve the issue of energy security after the migration of the population to cities.
