Proposals for the development of sports education and science were considered
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of proposals for the training of personnel in the field of physical education and sports, the development of scientific research.
Due to the conditions created for sports in our country, this movement is gaining popularity among the population. Young people are constantly engaged in physical education, and many choose it as a profession. Our Professional athletes are making tremendous progress in international competitions.
The head of state always pays special attention to issues of a healthy lifestyle, youth employment, the Olympic and Paralympic movement. At the videoselector meeting on may 23 this year, the task was set to develop sports education, to apply scientific approaches to the industry.
At the presentation, the plan-proposals prepared in this regard were considered. They cover three important areas: the first – improving the quality of education at the State University of Physical Culture and sports of Uzbekistan and its Nukus and Fergana branches, the second – improving the management system in sports educational institutions, the third – improving the system of scientific research in the field.
It is noted that since the 2023-2024 academic year, educational programs will be formed according to the program of leading foreign universities. Qualification requirements for all undergraduate and graduate areas are revised, competence certification is established, which evaluates the knowledge, skills and pedagogical skills of teachers and graduates.
Today, 5 non-current undergraduate areas are completed and 2 Master's specialties are organized. Experienced specialists of federations and foreign experts are involved in the training and training process.
Applicants who have an honorary title and category level in the field of sports, who have won prestigious international competitions, are exempted from passing professional exams. To encourage students, the Pahlavon Mahmud State Scholarship will be introduced. Talented graduates are given the status of a sports referee as well as a trainer of the second category.
It is planned to create a single supervisory board to strengthen the dependence of education and science. This council is headed to the effective organization of management, educational-methodical, research and spiritual and educational activities of sports institutions.
Also, the goals are set to release the scientific potential of the University of Physical Education and sports by up to 45%, increase the efficiency of the activities of professors and teachers, introduce new developments and technologies and enter international rankings.
The Institute of physical education and sports scientific research is entrusted with such new tasks as conducting research on sports biomechanics, Physiology, Pharmacology and genetics, transferring and commercializing the results of scientific and innovative activities, and implementing startup projects.
It is also envisaged to support and increase the effectiveness of scientific research, to send young personnel to foreign educational institutions for the protection of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
It is known that an Olympic Village is being built in the Yashnabad District of the capital. After passing the Asian Games, the complex is planned to be placed by the Ministry of sports development, sports federations and the Uzbek State Sports Academy, which will start operating in 2025.
The head of state approved these proposals and gave further instructions.
