Prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

On August 30 of this year, the minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held a meeting with the chairman of the Conrad Adenauer Foundation Norbert Lammert.

During the conversation, the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the foundation in various fields were discussed.

N.Lammert noted that the foundation supports large-scale reforms and updates carried out in all aspects of public life in Uzbekistan. The fact that the city of Tashkent was chosen as the venue for the annual conference of the foundation for representatives of Asian countries is a vivid confirmation of this.

During his visit, the head of the Foundation emphasized the effective results of the negotiations held in the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From this point on, it was noted the need to strengthen close cooperation between the foundation and the Parliament and political parties of Uzbekistan.

Views were exchanged on the implementation of joint projects in the fields of Economics, ecology, research, improving the activities of law-making, ensuring human rights and gender equality, improving the qualifications of employees of government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Mutual interest was expressed in establishing cooperation to improve the qualifications of journalists, organizing the participation of Representatives of the media of Uzbekistan in the programs of the foundation “Support of young journalists” and “Training of Professional Journalists”.
