Prospects for interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev on August 11 held a meeting with the governor of one of the largest regions of the Republic of Korea, Kensan-Pukto, Lee Chhol U.
The parties applauded the opening of the Daegu Genbuk machine Cooperative marketing Center on the territory of the Kor-Uz textile Technopark, which took place in August this year. The Korean side expressed confidence that this center will create every opportunity to further deepen industrial cooperation between the two countries, including the production of ready-made textiles of high added value in order to subsequently export them to the markets of third countries.
The possibilities of establishing industrial cooperation between manufacturers of the regions of Uzbekistan and Korea in the fields of "green" energy, electronics, automotive, pharmaceutical and other promising areas were studied. The prospects for organizing visits of delegations of business circles of the Kensan-Pukto region and various regions of Uzbekistan, holding joint business forums and negotiations in B2B and B2G formats were noted.
During the conversation, the prospects for interaction in the field of vocational education were also considered. Within the framework of the four-way Memorandum signed by Uzbekistan between Inno Technopark and Akfa University and Korea between Genbuk Technopark and Yongnam University, the importance of Joint start-up projects and working in cooperation with the training of qualified personnel in the field of Advanced Technologies was emphasized.
