Rectors Forum 2023 proposed to be held in Uzbekistan

Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education A.Tashkulov held a meeting with Director General of the International Organization "Campus France" Ms. Donatien Issard within the framework of the II Forum of Franco-Uzbek Universities. At the outset of the dialogue, Minister Tashkulov noted with satisfaction that cooperation in higher education has also been expanding rapidly.

During bilateral talks, Minister Karimov stressed that learning French is one of the priority areas of joint activity, and specifically stressed that 13 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan are effectively training specialists in French language.

"The minister stressed, "For our teachers and specialists the seminars and training courses organized by Campus Française and French Alliance are a good opportunity to study the French experience in the development of new industrial technologies, information and computer systems, medicine and medical education.

During the conversation, it was noted that special attention is paid to proposals of rectors of a number of higher education institutions in Uzbekistan who have visited France to establish cooperation in the fields of textile and design, chemical technology, energy, mechanical engineering, industrial technology, biotechnology, irrigation and water resources, agriculture, medicine, pharmacology, pharmaceuticals.

Uzbekistan is also interested in inviting French teachers and specialists for short-term and long-term lectures, master classes, conferences and seminars in the abovementioned areas.

It was further noted that today's forum is important in directly establishing interaction between universities of the two countries.

At the end of the dialogue it was proposed to hold the next forum of rectors with French universities in Tashkent in 2023.
