Regional international conference on transformation of food systems

Today, October 25, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev attended the opening ceremony of the regional international conference on the transformation of food systems, held in the framework of the annual meeting of the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development in Tashkent.

The conference highlighted the need to provide cheap food to the broader population in the context of agricultural transformation.

As one of the solutions to this problem, it was proposed to expand investment in projects aimed at introducing systems that analyze changes in the production cost chain, measure the impact of processes and production costs on producers, suppliers and consumers, and take appropriate operational measures to ensure price stability and the volume of goods supplied to the market.

The importance of taking practical steps to ensure that regional governments, international financial institutions and donor organizations work together to implement effective investment projects to build sustainable food systems was noted.

The Conference also included panel discussions covering such topics as "Identification of the main sources of financing for the transformation of sustainable food systems in the Europe and Central Asia region" and "The role of private and climate finance as a means to accelerate the transformation of the food system".

The event concluded with the adoption of a Declaration of Agreement on Accelerated Transformation of the Food System in Central Asia.
