Remittances sent to Uzbekistan in the last five months

In January-May this year, international cross-border remittances to Uzbekistan amounted to 4.19 billion US dollars.
According to the Central Bank's press service, remittances in January-May 2022 increased by 61% ($ 1.58 billion) compared to the same period in 2021.
In January-May 2022, commercial banks purchased a total of $ 4.32 billion in foreign currency from individuals. This is 59% ($ 1.60 billion) more than in the corresponding period of 2021.
In addition, a total of $ 2.84 billion in foreign currency was sold to individuals through commercial banks. This is 70% ($ 1.17 billion) more than in the corresponding period of 2021.
