Representatives of the Oliy Majlis are in the United States on a working visit

A parliamentary delegation of members of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis paid a working visit to the United States on April 4-7.
The visit of Uzbek parliamentarians to the United States was organized in cooperation with the Open World Leadership Center, which specializes in the development of parliamentary diplomacy at the Library of Congress and actively cooperates with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States Javlon Vahobov and representatives of the Oliy Majlis, the Open World Center and the American Council on International Education exchanged views on the state of cooperation and prospects for its further development.
According to the embassy, Jane Sargus, Executive Director of the Open World Center, praised the current level of cooperation with Uzbekistan. The United States noted that the positive developments in Uzbekistan are being widely discussed at the Capitol Hill, with a special focus on the Open World Board of Trustees, which consists of members of both houses of Congress.
During the visit, the representatives of the Oliy Majlis also met in Washington with Steve Knicks, Director of the International Republican Institute of Eurasia, where the Uzbek side was introduced to the American legislative experience, public opinion and advanced means of public relations.
According to the embassy, the delegation of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan continues its visit to the United States. The parliamentarians will be in Santa Fe, New Mexico, April 7-14, where they will hold a series of meetings and talks with local lawmakers and executive representatives.
The next visit of the Uzbek delegation to the United States will be held on April 27 under the program of the Open World Leadership Center at the Library of Congress, which will be dedicated to the exchange of experience in the field of e-government.
