«Road Charter» on the expansion of cooperation in the energy sector of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan

The First Deputy Minister of energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadjaev and the Minister of energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shakhbaz signed a “Road charter” to expand cooperation in the energy sector of the two countries.
According to him, during 2022-2023, the parties invited to participate in the relevant competitions in the introduction of renewable energy sources in the country, exchange knowledge and advanced experience in the field of construction of new thermal power plants at the expense of private investment, stimulate mutual investment, liberalize and create energy (electricity and natural gas) markets, provides for the implementation of the exchange of experience and information on measures to ensure the participation of the parties in privatization and attract private investment.
Also, the organization of cooperation in the field of effective use of energy resources, attracting the private sector to investments, training personnel, the organization of joint activities for the Export/import of chemical and oil and gas products of JSC Uzbekneftgaz and SOCAR, the development of opportunities for joint implementation of geological exploration and hydrocarbon extraction projects in the territory of Azerbaijan with SOCAR, the organization, It includes such as the exchange of experience in the implementation of projects of renewable energy sources based on the principles of PPP.
