Russian airlines Smartavia and iFly have suspended flights to Uzbekistan

Russian airlines Smartavia and iFly have announced that flights to Uzbek cities have been suspended. Earlier, Russia's Aeroflot and S7 Airlines also announced the cancellation of international flights.

Russian airlines Smartavia and iFly have suspended flights to Uzbekistan, Uzaviatsiya reported, citing company announcements.

According to official data from Smartavia, the Moscow-Urgench-Moscow flight on March 7 was canceled. Smartavia has canceled international flights until March 19.

iFly also announced that flights to Uzbek cities have been suspended. As of March 5, the company has suspended all flights to the country indefinitely.

Earlier, Russia's invasion of Ukraine led to the closure of its airspace by Russian civil aviation. At the end of February, all 27 EU member states closed their airspace to Russian aircraft.
