Samarkand's new airport will start operating international flights on April 1

The new airport in Samarkand will start operating at full capacity on April 1 and will serve international flights. The commissioning of the airport complex is nearing completion.

"We are now completing the launch of the airport complex, which introduces a new service technology that will increase the volume of transit through new solutions for customs and border control, passenger and luggage registration." - said the head of the company during a conversation on "Horizons for attracting investment in tourism" within the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The opening ceremony of the airport complex took place on March 18. The new terminal project is part of the first public-private partnership agreement in the history of Uzbek aviation between a foreign company Air Maracanda and a state partner of Uzbekistan Airports.
