Sberbank's net profit down 78%

It became known today that Sberbank's net profit declined 4.5 times last year. According to the financial report, the bank earned RUB 270.5 billion in 2022, which is 4.5 times less than a year earlier, when its net profit amounted to RUB 1.246 trillion.

According to Sberbank's representatives, several factors contributed to the decline in profits, including a deteriorating macroeconomic situation, high inflation and low interest rates on deposits. In addition, the bank also incurred significant costs for information security and digital transformation.

Despite this, Sberbank remains one of the largest banks in Russia and continues to be an industry leader. The bank is actively working to expand its business and offer its clients increasingly innovative and convenient services, such as digital banking products and online services. The bank's efforts to improve service quality and develop new areas are expected to help it return to sustainable profit growth in the near future.
