Secretaries of security councils of SCO states meet in Tashkent

On August 19 this year, the 17th meeting of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states will be held in Tashkent. The event was held as part of Uzbekistan's presidency of the SCO and is an important stage of preparation for the Council of Heads of State to be held in Samarkand.
The meeting will be attended by secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member and observer states, as well as representatives of the SCO MATT Secretariat and the Executive Committee.
In accordance with the agenda, issues of ensuring international and regional security are considered, including the fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal circulation of weapons and drugs, as well as ensuring information security.
Within the framework of the event, bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations of partner countries are also planned. Meetings of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states have been held since 2004 and are a coordinating and advisory mechanism of multilateral cooperation.
