Shavkat Mirziyoyev: A completely new atmosphere and quality should be established in our schools

The head of our state met with a group of school teachers at an educational exhibition.

From the very beginning of his activity as President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the personnel issue as one of the urgent problems of our country's development. In recent years, no matter what reforms or projects have been initiated, the training of qualified specialists has always been on the agenda.

Our country has embarked on a course of building a social state. Hundreds of new schools have been built, additional places for 500 thousand pupils, over 7 thousand modern computer classrooms created.

Along with expansion of conditions, steps have been taken to change the content and methods of education. On the first stage, the textbooks for primary classes are being renewed.

The Head of our state underlined that these measures are part of the overall strategy of school education, and the quality and effectiveness largely depends on the teacher.

The President reiterated the need for a clear definition of the status, rights and interests of teachers in the Constitution and laws.

-We must build a society where teachers are the most prestigious profession. In this, we rely, first and foremost, on the thousands of teachers and mentors who have devoted their lives to raising the younger generation! A society that honours teachers will never lose, it will surely achieve its goals. Never forget one fact: Our people have entrusted you with their future. Our future depends first and foremost on you. Thus, the President will always support you," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The importance of increasing parental responsibility in upbringing and education of children was noted.

During the dialogue, teachers expressed their views on improvement of the quality of training in pedagogical universities, attraction of native speakers of foreign languages into schools, professional orientation of youth.

In conclusion, the head of state congratulated the teachers on the coming year 2023 and wished them success in their honorable and responsible work.
