Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Sándor Csányi on successful deal

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sincerely congratulated Chairman of the Board of Hungary's biggest bank OTP Sándor Csányi on the successful signing of the agreement on purchase of state-owned shareholding in Ipoteka Bank and entry of the leading European banking and financial institution into the Uzbek market.

Particular attention has been paid to the attraction of direct investments from Hungary and other EU nations in the implementation of investment projects in various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy, including in manufacturing, agriculture, horticulture and poultry farming, food production and textiles, pharmaceuticals, etc.

In addition, the sides stressed the importance of close interaction in higher education and professional training, as well as in improving the quality of banking services rendered to the population.

An agreement was reached on the adoption of a "road map" with priority actions to support and promote joint projects and cooperation programs.

At the end of the meeting in the presence of the head of state there was a signing ceremony for an agreement on the acquisition by OTP Bank of a state share in Ipoteka Bank.
