Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

On December 11, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of our state cordially congratulated the leader of Turkmenistan and the brotherly Turkmen people on the 25th anniversary of the country's neutrality, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, progress and prosperity. During the conversation, topical issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda were considered.
The presidents expressed deep satisfaction with the achieved high level and modern dynamics of the development of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of centuries-old friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.

The priorities of interaction for the future in such key areas as trade, industrial cooperation, agriculture, energy, transport and transit, interregional ties and humanitarian programs have been determined.

An agreement was reached on establishing new forms of practical cooperation and creating a joint structure in order to conduct joint research in the field of combating the spread of coronavirus infection.

The important role of the effective activity of the joint Intergovernmental Commission and active interdepartmental dialogue in ensuring the unconditional implementation of agreements at the highest level was especially noted. The leaders also exchanged views on the situation in the world, agreed to continue traditionally close contacts and mutual support within the framework of the United Nations institutions and other international structures.

The presidents especially dwelt on the prospects for regional cooperation, and also discussed preparations for the upcoming CIS summit. The conversation took place in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere.
