Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the monument to Ahmad Fergani

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev began his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt from the visit of Ahmad Fargani heritage.
It is known that this great compatriot was a mature astronomer, mathematician and geographer of his time, conducted scientific research in Baghdad and Damascus, and from 856 he lived in Cairo and until the end of his life was engaged in Science in Egypt.
The scientist made many important discoveries. In particular, in 861 he built a structure measuring the water level on the island of Ravza on the Nile River. This device, known as ”scale an-Nile", was very important in the assessment of Agriculture and climate. For almost 1200 years, the structure was used continuously until the last century. And today it has been turned into a tourist attraction.
In 2007, a monument to Ahmad Ferghani was erected on an alley near the Nile. The president laid a wreath at his stake and paid tribute to the memory of our grandfather The Thinker.
Then the head of our state examined the scale Nile structure, talked with scientists about its history, contribution to the science of Ahmad Fargani. It was noted that the legacy of the great alloma, which is still preserved, in general, the role of Uzbeks in the history of Egypt, testifies to the long-standing friendship between our peoples.
