Signed important agreements aimed at increasing export and transit potential

On November 25, documents on the management of Navoi Free Economic Zone and Navoi International Airport Cargo Terminal were signed.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
"Today, the geopolitical situation in the world requires each country to properly use its capabilities and resources, create new trade and logistics corridors. In this regard, we are negotiating with prestigious companies of the world and studying the most suitable proposals. Our goal is to increase the export potential of our country at least 3-4 times by 2030," the head of state said.
Navoi Free Economic Zone and Navoi International Airport have great opportunities in terms of industry and logistics. They have necessary infrastructure and established system of work. In order to effectively use them, an agreement was signed with DP World Company of United Arab Emirates on the management of Navoi Free Economic Zone, as well as a contract with the Emirati company "Terminals Holding" on the management of the Navoi Airport Cargo Terminal.
"DP World" will be engaged in introduction of international legal norms in Navoi free economic zone, meeting requirements of foreign investors, as well as attraction of large manufacturers.
The tasks of Terminals Holding are to increase cargo turnover in Navoi International Airport and connect it to major cargo hubs. This cooperation will significantly contribute to Uzbekistan's integration into key international transport corridors and increase the volumes of transit at least tenfold.
In general, these two agreements will serve to expand innovative and high-tech services in our country, and develop transport communications that are important for the national economy.
"I wish dynamic business development of these two companies in Uzbekistan. I am confident that these projects will further increase the scale of close cooperation between our countries," the President said in conclusion of his speech.
The leaders of DP World and Terminals Holding expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached at the ceremony and noted that it opens great opportunities for both sides.
This concluded the President's trip to Navoi Province and he returned to Tashkent.
