Slovak Ambassador Jan Bory completed his work in our country

Uzbek Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic Jan Borie in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country on December 9, 2022.

The Minister praised the personal contribution of the ambassador, who has headed the Slovak diplomatic mission in Tashkent for five years, to the progressive development of bilateral relations.

The sides discussed topical issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was stressed that the activation of economic diplomacy has been considered a priority. The current level of trade turnover does not match the existing economic capacities, human and production resources of the two countries. In this context, proposals were considered to institutionalize dialogue in this direction.

The sides exchanged views on strengthening ties between the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the National Council of Slovakia.

The parties to talks advocated expanding interaction within Uzbekistan-Slovakia-EU and Visegrad Group + Central Asia formats. The sides stressed the necessity of signing the Agreement on Extended Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU as soon as possible.

J.Bori, in his turn, thanked for all possible assistance in his work as the head of the Slovak diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
