South African variant strain of COVID-19 identified in Uzbekistan

In connection with the identification of the African strain of COVID-19 in Uzbekistan, quarantine restrictions in the country will be strengthened from April 18 of this year.
This was reported at an expanded meeting of the special commission to combat the spread of coronavirus under the leadership of Abdulla Aripov.
“The African strain has also penetrated to us. At present, the Center for Advanced Technologies, together with the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare Service, are studying and analyzing the spread of the new strain on the territory of the republic, ”the Prime Minister said at the event.
It was also noted that in cases of detection of a disease in kindergartens and schools, their activities will be immediately suspended for a 2-week quarantine period. During this time, schools will operate remotely.
Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan were allowed to be held only in open areas. Mass events "Iftorlik" should be canceled, if possible, or held only in the bosom of the family with a limited number of participants.
The number of places in catering and transport establishments will be limited to 50%. The number of buses will increase.
From May 1, concerts and cultural events will be banned indoors.
The number of guests at weddings and other celebrations should not exceed 100 people.
