Spain-Uzbekistan: there is enough potential for the development of relations in the field of Education

June 27, 2022 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received Marcos Gomez Martinez who was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to our country (his residence in Moscow).

V.Norov received the credentials of the Ambassador, congratulated him on his appointment to a new post and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.

It was noted the importance of continuing consultations on the activation of political dialogue, Organization of visits at various levels, mutual cooperation within the framework of international institutions, the issue of Afghanistan.

Marcos Gomez Martinez stressed that Spain considers Uzbekistan the main state in the region and supports in every way the structural reforms carried out in the Republic, which contribute to the improvement of the welfare of the population and the country's global prestige.

Particular attention was paid to the prospects for the activation of economic diplomacy. It was noted that the Spanish side is interested in establishing long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan in the fields of transport, agriculture, banking, textile, oil and gas industries, renewable energy and tourism.

The ambassador said that Uzbekistan is a promising market with great potential for Spanish companies. For a detailed study of the country and its business environment, it is planned to organize a visit of the delegation of Spanish entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan.

It was noted that there is enough potential for the development of relations in the field of Education. In particular, the issues of opening branches of Spanish universities and vocational training centers in Uzbekistan, attracting Spanish specialists and teachers to our country were discussed.
