Target set to launch 250 furniture projects and create 10,000 new jobs

The head of the state said that next year the production in the furniture industry should reach 5 trillion sums and export - up to $50 million.

It was noted that about 100 mahallas in Bukhara, Namangan, Samarkand, Andijan, Fergana and Khorezm specialize in production of furniture and need to be expanded.

The governors of these provinces have been directed to set up furniture industry centres around the neighbourhoods within a month. Also:

Next year, we will launch 250 furniture projects and create 10,000 new jobs;

Allocation of 55 billion sum for infrastructure of 15 furniture industrial zones;

Commissioned a draft decree to extend until January 1, 2024 the period of customs privileges granted to the furniture industry.
