Tashkent hosted V-forum of Guides of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On February 28, 2022, Hilton Tashkent City hosted the V-forum of guides of the Republic of Uzbekistan, timed to coincide with the International Day of the guide and guide, which is celebrated on February 21.
The forum, organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, was attended by the leadership of the ministry, representatives of the country's tourism companies, guides and tour guides.
During the event, tourism specialists and participants exchanged views on the activities of guides during the pandemic and new opportunities for the future.
According to the analysis of international experience studied by experts, the development of domestic tourism in the context of the global crisis is the most correct direction. Given this, in Uzbekistan, a number of benefits are provided for representatives of the sphere within the framework of the “Travel around Uzbekistan” program. All this is done with the aim of wide coverage of the population by travel.
“The President of Uzbekistan pays great attention to the formation of a positive image of Uzbekistan in the rapidly progressing tourism sector as a strategic sector of the country's economy, which is highly recognized by the world community. For example, over 90 normative and legal acts have been adopted to support the industry, diversify tourism in our country, boost the attractiveness of Uzbekistan in the international arena.
The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage is developing a "Tourism Development Strategy of Uzbekistan until 2030", taking into account the global crisis and new competitive conditions in the industry, which requires a non-traditional approach to attracting tourists. In this regard, we urge representatives of the tourism business, guides and tour guides to take an active part in the development of this document, "noted Ulugbek Azamov, First Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
