The average life expectancy of the population of Africa has increased by 10 years

According to the World Health Organization, the average life expectancy of the population has increased by 10 years in 47 countries located on the African continent.

These figures are based on a report prepared by the United Nations Organization for 19 years of studies.

It is noted that at the beginning of our century, the average life expectancy of people on the continent was 46 years. By this time, this figure has reached 56 years. Matshidiso Moeti, the representative of the WHO, said that the dynamics of this growth is significantly higher compared to other regions of the world.

This is due to the increasing access to qualified medical services in Africa. In addition, since 2005, some progress has been made in the fight against infectious diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria.

Experts conclude that although the growth indicators are encouraging, it is still not possible to be fully satisfied with the achieved results.

Because in the period mentioned in the report, the average life expectancy of the world population was equal to 64 years. Therefore, it is necessary to continue the measures related to the protection of public health in Africa more intensively.
